Mathers Construction Team Provides Most Competitive Proposal to Build Frontier Community Bank’s Home Office in Waynesboro, Va.

    March 20, 2008

(Waynesboro, VA) Mathers Construction Team was chosen through a competitive bid process to provide construction services for Frontier Community Bank’s first office. The facility will be located at 400 Lew Dewitt Blvd. in Waynesboro, Va. The newly formed Frontier Community Bank is a locally owned and managed community bank focused on serving individuals and businesses in Augusta County and the cities of Waynesboro and Staunton.

The two-story, brick and architectural precast façade building will include a four-lane, drive-up window and ATM, plus ample customer parking. The bank will provide traditional banking services during business hours. In addition to the teller area, the bank will include offices for bank personnel, a balcony on the second floor overlooking the lobby area, a two-story, clerestory window, two stairways, plus an elevator for handicapped patrons. The building will be protected by an automatic fire sprinkler system and will be constructed with an open-web, steel-joist second floor and a wood-truss roof superstructure. The roof is a combination of copper, standing-seam metal and heat applied rubber. The design team for the project is composed of Miller-Cupp Associates and Design Vision. Construction is expected to start this April, and will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2008. Frank Hawkins served as the senior estimator on this successful bid project. The construction team will be led by Charles Duvel, Ph.D. as project manager; and Jeff Henderson as project superintendent.

Brad Nichols, President and CEO of Mathers notes: “Mathers is very pleased to serve the Frontier Community Bank’s investors who are ‘putting their money where their mouth is’ as the saying goes. There is no clearer statement of dedication to the Waynesboro community than to create a local bank that will help the community grow.”
